FROM TOWELS TO FASHION
The first Tom Tailor garments were towels made from terry fabric. Uwe liked the idea of bringing high-quality materials into everyday life. Extending it to menswear styles, designing our first bestseller - a pair of corduroy pants called 'Tom'.
Uwe decided to add 'Tailor' to the already established 'Tom' and create today's brand.
In 1972, the first Tom Tailor shirts were marketed with the claim 'We dress people'. A statement for freedom and adventure.
