Recycling has never been easier. Drop off your pre-loved clothing at one of our stores or send it to us via post for free. After sorting through your clothes, our partner TEXAID will decide how they’ll remain in the loop. There are three options: Rewear, Reuse, Recycle.

REWEAR. Undamaged styles are resold and worn as second-hand clothing.
RECYCLE. If your styles are damaged, they will be recycled into new products.
REUSE. Your styles are given a new purpose - for example, as a cleaning cloth.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What’s the idea behind BE PART of THE LOOP?

Clothes and shoes are made from natural and synthetic fibres. A lot of water, chemicals, and energy were invested in their production. Even if they are ‘old’, we value these products as resources for new items. We are committed to their ecological and sustainable reutilisation.

With BE PART of the loop we have built a collection infrastructure in stores and online. Making it easier for you to dispose your worn clothes and shoes in a more sustainable way. And BE PART of more recycling.

Who are your recycling partners?

For BE PART of the loop we cooperate with Texaid - one of the leading organisations in Europe for collecting, sorting, and recycling of used textiles. When you choose to send us your worn clothes and shoes via post, Packmee takes over. The online-based collection system is a part of the Texaid Group.

How do I pack my clothes and shoes?

This one is easy: Simply take a suitable cardboard box, check whether the items that you want to recycle are clean and fill the package with them. Preferably tie the shoes together and place them in the gaps. Seal the fully filled box, apply the free return label and hand the box over to the postal service.

If you choose to use the collection boxes in our stores, you can simply place the items in the designated boxes. If you have any questions, our store staff is always there for you.

Do the items have to be from Tom Tailor?

No, you can drop off any type of clothing, textiles, or shoes – regardless of the brand or origin.

Can I also donate items that aren’t in a perfect condition?

Yes, you can. All types of clothing, textiles, and shoes are accepted – even if they are damaged or worn. But please make sure they are clean and dry.

What happens to my items?

Your items are taken to Texaid's sorting facilities. Here, trained employees inspect all items manually and classify them according to certain criteria – with the goal of reuse or recycling. If their quality is still good, they remain in the textile cycle as second-hand goods. Whereas, if their condition is classified as ‘unwearable’, the clothes and shoes are recycled.

Depending on the nature of the items, they are used for a different industry or new fibres are made from them.

What is the role of Tom Tailor within be part of THE LOOP?

Our task is to facilitate the collection process by setting up collection boxes in our stores and promoting the online collection service to you. We work closely with Texaid to ensure that the worn out items are collected and recycled in a sustainable and responsible way.

Do I get something for returning my clothes and shoes?

We offer you a 10% off voucher as a thank you for the returned items.

Does Tom Tailor financially benefit from this initiative?

No, we don’t receive any financial benefits from this initiative. Our intrinsic goal is to promote sustainability, a circular economy, and social responsibility.
